Aaron Dalyrmple, another blog author, contacted me about Third Place concepts, and what items he has on his list of “must haves” for a comofortable third place to work in. Go check out his blog HERE and let’s discuss what we think our list would contain. And have you ever found such a spot? Give me your secret hideaways!

a kayak! that’s what I saw today with the Sustainable South Bronx project….I love the pics from LT’s blog about their learning journey there.
Tea! I don’t drink the coffee stuff….
Space to be alone if you want peace
Plugs for when you want to charge your laptop after 5 hours and one drink.
Food to keep you going after 5 hours
Signs that they care about the community, something that makes you feel part of it, rather than it just being a coffee shop
A member of staff that stands out, that remembers you. You go there because it’s a good place, you stay there because you know them
Check out the Q cafe, I love that concept
Duncan you are SO right on several things:
Plugs!!!! My favorite spot has one — count it — one plug in the whole cafe. Regulars jockey quickly to grab it. It just occurred to me to bring a 3-way converter next time. Hmmmm.
I would also like a small variety of food, because I keep breaking my diet when hunger hits. Donuts and pastries are great, but how about something else for a change?
And also, while I’m on a roll, lighting that provides both atmosphere and actual light.
Duncan was right…Q cafe looks amazing. I’m headed to Seattle this summer, so I guess I just picked up a new stop on my itinerary.

According to Sleepless in Seattle (not the best film in the world) it rains 9 months of the year in Seattle….
All the better for some great music and a cup of good coffee (sorry…I’m a little biased there! Though I did drink my first cup of tea last week.)
