Pete Wilson, lead pastor at Cross Point where my friend Jenni is the executive pastor, wrote an amazing blog recently about why he bothers to blog. Now, I don’t have nearly the readership that Pete does, and I’m not a pastor by any means. But he captures some of the spirit of why I keep writing Coffee Shop Journal. (Besides the fact that I’m addicted and somehow I have to!) Go read Pete’s blog. It inspires me.

Wow, Marla. Your blog is awesome. Thanks for the kind words about our shop. We have a lot of work to do to see it truly become a Third Place; but, with amazing customers like you and David, there’s a lot of inspiration to keep me and the team going. Reading your site has been a great experience. Maria and I have a deep background in smallgroups and intentional community. We’re looking forward to meeting folks now that we’re living in Jupiter. I look forward to chatting with you guys about faith the next time you’re in for coffee! (I’m so glad you like the Iced Doubleshot with Energy!)

Thanks, Jeremy! We adore hanging out in your Third Place, as you know. You’re doing a great job creating a culture of community. We’ll look forward to meeting Maria, too.
I’m sure we’ll be seeing you soon….

Maria and I tend to haunt our stores on the same days and, in best cases, share our days off. I know she looks forward to meeting you both as I’ve talked A LOT about your visits to the store.
