Larry,
I remember John standing in the foyer, too! I'm hoping he gets the same job in Austin...Q wouldn't be quite the same without him. Isn't his story in the post amazing? I love that his wife was a. interested in talking to the kids rather than "suffering" through their presence and b. confident enough in her mission with John that she knew she could invite them home! Not sure how my hubby would react, to tell you the truth!

Marla, Thanks for sharing Big John's story.

Big John, That was beautiful! Those kids don't even look old enough to get into half the venues that they play. You and your wife just opened up your house to them and showered them with LOVE. We have been studying the Beatitudes in my SS class and Sunday we discussed Mercy. The one thought from the book we are studying out of is "Those practicing mercy are not interested in the rewards of being merciful or if those in need really deserve it. Those practicing mercy have lost interest in sin, they are more interested in mercy. Mercy is their food and drink". Thank you for sharing this story! I hope to see you again at Q in Austin. We met briefly in the entryway to G Hall. You appeared to be a bouncer then too.
